It was the 27th of November, a Thursday, and we were all excited to go to Waimea College and do some science experiments. So we got into our cars to get to Waimea and off we went. It was a long car drive but it seemed so short and once we got there, man! The classrooms were so big and the chairs were the same as ours but 1.5 times as big.
"Time to get your lab coats and goggles on" the teachers said. And so we did. The lab coats were too big for all of us. And the goggles were a bit big but then we got another instruction, "find your group and a year 10 and start experimenting." So we found a year 10 and started experimenting.

The first experiment we did was adding a strong base to an even stronger acid called hydrochloric acid. it formed a not so strong acid which was fascinating because usually usually it would turn into a neutral.
The second and last experiment we did was adding magnesium to hydrochloric acid which gives of a gas called hydrogen and using this as the class to do two amazing explosions in the videos below.
